One visit porcelain inlays – Cerec. These are white fillings (or inlays) made of solid porcelain/ceramic that are made outside of the mouth by the Cerec machine, and securely cemented into the prepared cavity once made. These are far superior and much stronger than hand built fillings, therefore are ideal for very large cavities where a much higher strength and superior cosmetics are required. The Cerec machine utilises state of the art technology to fabricate inlays, crowns or veneers in a single visit. There is no need for messy impressions (moulds) of your teeth, temporary fillings/crowns, and is ideal for patients with hectic schedules with demands for the best treatment!
White fillings built by hand (composite fillings):
The end result of these fillings depend very much on skill. They involve the artistic shaping of the filling to look like the natural tooth. The colour of the filling is matched to that of the natural tooth, and is shaped so that it fits in your bite correctly. The filling is then highly polished to reduce staining, and give a smooth finish.
At Wansbeck Dental Spa, we pride ourselves on the skill and quality of our white fillings. The teeth are isolated using a rubber sheeting (rubber dam), so that saliva is not able to contaminate the tooth. The cavity is then disinfected prior to placement of the white filling material to ensure the finished result is a flawless white filling that is indistinguishable from your natural teeth.
